UNC Test 1.2

The Unconfined Compression Test Application is engineered to complement the GCTS Wireless Point Load Testing System, which is equipped with Unconfined Compression Test Platens. This software facilitates the execution and data recording of unconfined compression tests by establishing a wireless Bluetooth connection with the testing system.

The application streamlines test preparation by providing clear instructions that are transmitted seamlessly for user convenience. Operators can calibrate the crosshead position by placing a certified specimen within the Point Load Testing System. The software employs a two-point calibration process to ensure precise crosshead positioning.

Performing the test involves placing the specimen in the apparatus and applying a small initial load, allowing the software to automatically measure the specimen’s height. Subsequent load application can proceed, with the application monitoring the height measurement and initiating the test once a specified threshold load is reached.

During testing, the application continuously records load and specimen height data, displaying real-time graphs. It automatically computes and displays the unconfined compressive strength at the conclusion of each test. Additionally, it calculates stress and strain throughout testing, offering real-time visualization options. The software also determines the Tangent Modulus at 50% of maximum strength and provides real-time updates on loading rate to assist in appropriate load application.

Post-test, users can generate and email detailed reports in CSV format directly from the application. Test data are also stored within the software for future reference.

The application applies automatic corrections for frame deformation compliance, effectively modeling an infinitely stiff frame and ensuring highly accurate results. All calculations presented incorporate these corrections without user intervention.

Prior to use, the application must establish a connection with a GCTS Wireless Point Load Testing System. Once connected, data can be accessed remotely from any location, enhancing operational flexibility.
